the Irish, Turkish or Greek cat

This afternoon, I found a kind of poster I had bought almost 10 years ago during my first trip to Ireland....it was about a black and white Irish cat...
and I thought of my black and white cat in Greece, o Pantoulis, as we call him and the white and black cat of my apartment building in Istanbul, i Pantoula, as I only call her...
beautiful creatures full of personality, demanding but also independent and we their full time servants

The happiest moment of my life.....

Someone told me the other day that he saw something extraordinary.
A street cat laid down on a zebra crossing in front of cars and simply enjoyed the warmth of the winter sun. People got anxious about her suicidal tendency, yet she/he ( I bet she was) ignored the madness of one of the busiest streets of Istanbul and stopped the traffic, sending a message that sometimes we live our happiest moments while we don't know...and I thought of Nikos Kazantzakis who once wrote:

" I felt once more how simple and frugal a thing is happiness: a glass of wine, a roast chestnut, a wretched little brazier, the sound of the sea. Nothing else!"

Hoş geldiniz

It's been almost 5 months I have been in Istanbul and I felt that it is time finally to write down my thoughts and feelings of this new life journey.
Istanbul; a spicy erratic woman, passionate, full of life, explosive and deeply melancholic..the city I am madly in love with and makes my heart smile every time I cross the Halic or get a warm gunaydin from people on the street... a city I am determined to live to its full extent...meeting new people, wandering around and exploring little magic holes...
